In this section, nursing assistants, home health aides, personal care assistants,
and other direct-care workers share their thoughts in writing, on video, and
in interviews about the rewards and frustrations of their work. It includes
three sections:
- Portrait Gallery: In these interviews, which are accompanied by photos, direct-care workers talk about what they do and what it means to them.
- Direct-Care Workers on Their Work: In essays, poems, book excerpts, and letters to the editor, direct-care workers write about things they love about direct-care work and things they'd like to see changed.
- Videos: These videos feature direct-care workers talking about their work, and sometimes show them in action.
- Voices: Do you have an
experience or story to share about your work as a direct-care worker? If so,
