Abstract |
As the culture change movement grows, there is a need to distinguish between cultural and programmatic change. This article contends that ''values in action,'' actual workforce and caregiving practices, do not always reflect an organization's espoused values. Often, this is because programmatic changes are made without the meaningful input of residents and staff. The article emphasizes the need to flatten traditional hierarchy and involve residents and direct-care workers in planning and implementing changes in workplace culture. |
