A guide to creating an employer-based home health aide training program

Abstract

The Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute developed an eight-section manual to assist providers in planning, developing, and implementing pre-employment, home health care training programs. This manual addresses both senior management and instructional teams, who both have important roles in the efficient functioning of a paraprofessional training program. The emphasis is on adult, learner-centered training techniques, which integrate problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking into the standard home health aide curriculum.
