following organizations are working to improve long-term care quality
by improving direct-care jobs.
Direct Care Alliance
The DCA is a national, practitioner-based coalition of long-term care
consumers, direct-care workers, and concerned healthcare providers
committed to pursuing reforms in public policy and health care to ensure
a stable, valued, and well-trained direct-care workforce.
Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute
PHI addresses the direct-care staffing crisis in long-term care by
implementing innovations in provider practice, building multi-stakeholder
coalitions to support public policies, and disseminating information
and resources. The National Clearinghouse on the Direct Care Workforce
is a project of PHI.
Health Care for Health Care Workers
An initiative of the Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute, Health Care for Health Care Workers is a campaign to secure access to quality, affordable health care for direct-care workers caring for elders and people with disabilities.
Pioneer Network
This network of progressive long-term care organizations and individuals
is committed to transforming the culture of aging and eldercare
in America.
National
Alliance for Direct Support Professionals
A coalition of organizations and individuals, NADSP is committed
to strengthening the quality of human service support by strengthening
the direct support workforce. Its members represent the fields
of mental health, developmental disabilities, child welfare,
education, and other parts of the human services community.
