The Lewin Group is a premier national health care and human services consulting firm with more than 35 years of experience finding answers and solving problems for leading organizations in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. In its Center on Long Term Care, The Lewin Group has built a nationally respected corporate capacity for providing policy-focused empirical research, hands-on technical assistance, and evaluation services to a wide array of clients.

Lisa Alecxih and Karen Linkins from Lewin are the project directors for the DSW TA Team. Carrie Blakeway serves as the TA Team coordinator. Lewin is available to provide TA related to programmatic and evaluation activities.

 
   
 

Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute
The Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute is addressing the direct-care staffing crisis in long-term care through:

  • Designing and implementing innovations in provider practice;
  • Building multistakeholder coalitions to support public policies responsive to the needs of workers, consumers, and long-term care providers
  • Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information and resources related to direct-care workforce issues.

They work with providers, labor organizations, policymakers, educators, and consumers to foster an understanding of workforce issues and to develop solutions that will sustain a competent, caring, and stable direct-care workforce that can deliver quality services to long-term care consumers.

Steve Edelstein and Peggy Powell from PHI are on the DSW TA Team and are available to provide technical assistance related to programmatic activities.

 
   
 

The Research Center on Community Living
The Research and Training Center on Community Living (RTC) is in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. RTC provides research, evaluation, training, technical assistance and dissemination to support the aspirations of persons with developmental disabilities to live full, productive and integrated lives in their communities.

Charlie Lakin, Amy Hewitt and Sheryl Larson from RTC are on the DSW TA Team and are available to provide technical assistance related to programmatic and evaluation activities.

The RTC has been engaged in research, training and technical assistance on recruitment, retention, and training of DSPs who support individual with DD for more than 25 years.

 
   
 

Institute for the Future of Aging Services
The Institute for the Future of Aging Services (IFAS) is a policy research institute housed within the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.  Their mission is to create a bridge between the practice, policy and research communities to advance the development of high-quality health, housing and supportive services for America’s aging population.  IFAS provides a forum for professionals, policymakers and the public to explore and foster policies and programs that will meet the needs of an aging society through the development of healthy aging communities. 

Robyn Stone and Lauren Harris-Kojetin are on the DSW TA Team and are available to provide technical assistance related to evaluation activities.
